Beginner’s Bible Coloring Book!

I found this puppy on Flickr and had to post it…

Beginner’s Bible Coloring Book!, originally uploaded by The Searcher.

Seeing this thing makes me totally want to hope in my dinosaur-rot powered automobile and drive on over to the Kentucker Creation unScience Museum.

Oh, and if there really was a coloring book like this I would buy 10 copies. Maybe more. Actually who wants to help me create a Bibically accurate coloring book? I need someone who can draw better than I can color. If that person be you… let me know. Oh, and just to be sure that picture above wasn’t colored by me. The person who created that puppy is about 37 times the artist I am.

Power Hour with Pastor Shepherd

Since I was still a little distraught over the brother Benny Hinn losing out to Rick Warren, I’ve decided to now support another person on their quest called the Great Commission. It almost inspires me to resurrect my “Even Greater Commission” that I spoke about a couple of years ago. I think for the sake of misty water color memories I just might start that back up…

Anyways, I’d like to get back to my new friend Pastor Shepherd of the Power Hour. I’m sure you’ve probably seen his show, The Power Hour, and depending on what state you live in you might have even heard news reports or seen the billboards about his 2008 presidential campaign. If you’re not familiar with him, you should probably click one of these links and get in the know.

Pastor Shepherd has friends in high places (in addition to me) and is only going to move up. My prayer for him is that next year he overtakes Rick Warren’s 49% household name recognition ranking.

The following is a clip of actor Gary Busey on the Power Hour:

Gary still unfortunately seems to be battling some inner demons but for what it matters I think his heart is in the right place. Bless Gary Busey and Pastor Shepherd and bless you.

Don’t You Want To Become a Rick Warren

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that most “Purpose Driven” churches are modeled off of this video?

Rick Warren has got it down pretty good.

If you haven’t read the Purpose Driven Church, you should. It’s a great marketing book. And no, not the Purpose Driven Life. Skip that book. That is the book given to the bilkee, not the bilker.

Back to PDChurch… There are so many useful chunks of info in there that I don’t know how I ever suckered people without it. It even goes so far as to give a list of types of people who easiest to trap in your web. Okay, well I guess that part is kind of common knowledge. The reason why it’s more impressive is the fact that he had the stones to put it in a list format and print it.

It tells you to make a lot of changes to the church (specific changes). It mentions the use of music with more bass. Bass is important to Jesus apparently. It tells you that some people will not like the new church but that’s okay because they are dead weight. Fill people’s life/time with activities so they don’t have time to themselves or with other nonmembers.

God Bless Your Real Breasts

That has to be one of the most brilliant things to ever come out of Oprah’s mouth.

Seriously.

Ladies, take Oprah’s words to heart. Oh, and ignore all that nonsensical “The Secret” shit that she was pushing. Telling people they can only get diseases if they think about disease is worse than ignorant. It’s dangerous. I wonder if Oprah tells her African girls academy students that their family members and neighbors all suffer disease because they invited the disease in their head via their thoughts or by talking to people who have AIDS?

And on that note… God bless you all (even fake ones).

The Brick Testament

If you aren’t familiar with the Brick Testament, you should be. Although not complete, it is hands down the best translation of the Bible. You don’t have to be a scholar or even a fan of the Bible to understand the Brick Testament and its beauty.

Think of it as the Lord’s Legos. Someone took the time to explain nearly 400 Bible stories via 4100+ illustrations made out of lego blocks. They do a great job representing the scripture they reference and do enough to mix in just a little bit of humor to an otherwise dry text.

Some of my favorite Brick Testament stories are:
Genesis 19:30-36 (aka The Seduction of Lot)
Genesis 22:1-14 (aka I was only kidding when I told you to kill your kid)
Deuteronomy 22:23-29 (aka The Rules of Rape)
Luke 12:51-52, Luke 14:26, Matthew 10:35 (aka Teachings of Jesus on Family)
Matthew 6:5-6, Matthew6:9-13 (aka Teachings of Jesus on Prayer)

What’s your favorite Brick Script? Do you know of a better Bible translation?
